Champ grew up in South Carolina working on his family's dairy farm. After spending over 10 years in the US Navy navigating submarines, he moved with his family to Missoula in 1997. Champ moved to Darby in 2016. Darby, Montana is where filming of the TV show Yellowstone is based. Champ’s favorite activities (other than being a Grandparent) are hunting, fishing camping e-biking and hiking.
Champ has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Montana, and has been very involved in the community over the years. In addition to serving on various boards and committees, he also served in the Montana House of Representatives.
